Stokes arrested on Drug Charges
On Friday February 19, 2010, officers of the Waynesboro Police Department and Agents of the South Mississippi Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 1004 Court St. Apt. C. 13 grams of alleged "crack" cocaine and 10 grams of alleged marijuana were seized along with an undisclosed amount of cash. Charles Stokes Jr. ,35, of 1004 Court St. Apt C was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute within 1500 feet of a school.
Disturbance On Taylor Ave. results in Agrravated Assualt
According to Chief Bunch, on February 22, 2010, Qwan Octavius Nelson was arrested by the Waynesboro Police Department for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Domestic Disturbance results in death
According to Chief Bunch, WPD officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 724 Bryant Street at approximately 10:35-10:40 p.m. on Saturday night 1-30-2010. Chief Bunch, Investigator Wesley Waites and Lt. Chris Harris were called to the scene by the shift supervisor, Lt. Pettus.
Arrest made involving shooting incident at local Pool Hall
According to Chief Bunch, the Waynesboro Police Department arrested a 17 year old male on 1-26-2010 for aggravated assault. The arrest was the result of an altercation which occurred at a pool hall in Waynesboro on Saturday night , 1-23-2010 between two juveniles. During the altercation the 17 year old suspect allegedly shot another 17 year old in the leg. Under Mississippi Law, any person 17 years of age that commits a felony is automatically charged as an adult. The 17 year old has an initial appearance before Judge Jane Hutto on 1-26-2010 and bond was set at 25,000.00. This matter is still under investigation.
Kenny Gandy Murder Investigation
According to Chief Bunch, on Saturday July 25th 2009 Jessie Mae Gandy reported that her 23 year old son, Kenny Gandy was missing.
New Officers Welcomed to the Waynesboro PD
According to Chief Bunch on December 1, 2009 the board approved two new officers to the PD.
Eric Tiebauer Law Office Burglarized
According to Chief Bunch, on 12-03-09, Investigator Waites was dispatched to the office of Eric Tiebauer , where the secretary had discovered that the office had been burglarized.
Burglary of Lesams Design
According to Chief Bunch, sometime between 11-13-09 and 11-18-09 Lesams Design was burglarized.
Dickerson & Dickerson Attorney Office burglarized
According to Chief Bunch, on November 16,2009 , Sgt Mark West was dispatched to Dickerson & Dickerson Attorney's Office in reference to a burglary.
Burglary of Quickway Market
According to Chief Bunch, on October 28,2009, Officer Holmes was dispatched to Quickway Market along with Officer Daniels and Sgt. Everett.

According to Chief Bunch, the Annual Police Memorial for Fallen Officers will be held Monday, September 28, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Memorial Library. Everyone is invited to attend.
Meridian Southern Railroad charges subject with Petit Larceny
According to Chief Bunch, Central Dispatch received a call from Hood Industries Security stating that a subject was stealing metal off the railroad near their place of business.
Armed Robbery at Super 10
According to Chief Bunch, on 8-14-09 Central Dispatch notified Investigator Waites of an armed robbery at Super 10.
Economic Development District Office Burglarized
According to Chief Bunch, an employee reported that when she arrived at the office unlocked the front door and entered the building, she noticed that the back door had been forced open. She stated that she then called the police. Approximately $10.00 in change missing out of a jar that was in a bottom desk drawer, some Pringles chips and four frozen dinners out the freezer.
State Farm Insurance Office Burglary
According to Chief Bunch, at 0233 hours, Central Dispatch advised of an alarm activation at State Farm Insurance. At 0235 hours, Officers Waites and Millican arrived on scene. Officer Waites discovered a back door to the business open and appeared to have been forced open.
Burglary at Freeman's Insurance Agency
According to Chief Bunch, Freeman's Insurance reported that the office had been burglarized during the night of -7-22-09. The suspects entered by breaking a window on the back side of the office.
Robbery at Bonner Drug Store
On July 1, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. 911 Central dispatch received a call that Bonner Drug Store had been robbed. Mrs. Bonner stated to dispatch that the male subject left the scene driving their truck a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, silver in color.

On July 1, 2009 at approximately 0600, Officers Jason Holmes and Brian Everett were dispatched to Southern Que on 304 Mississippi Dr.
Search for Missing Waynesboro Man
According to Chief Frost, WPD is looking into the disappearance of a 23-year-old Waynesboro man who reportedly went missing after being dropped off at a location not far from his Turner St. home.
Terry G. Parnell arrested by WCSO and WPD
According to Chief Frost, Officers of the WCSO and WPD took Terry G. Parnell in custody on June 9,2009 to hold for investigation on failing to register as a sex offender.
Burglary reported at Leonard's Fashions
According to Chief Frost, a burglary was reported at Leonard's Fashions located at 1010 Mississippi Drive. The suspect made entry through a window. According to the owner, Leonard Paige, clothing items and accessories were stolen
2nd Burglary at WMS
According to Chief Frost, another burglary took place at WMS on 6-19-09. Principal Walley stated that someone broke into another room at the Middle school. Walley stated to Sgt. McCaskey that nothing appears to be missing.
Items reported stolen from storage buildings at 104 Turner St.
According to Chief Frost, Sgt. Harris was dispatched to 104 Turner St. to take a report on some stolen property out of storage building #5. The items were a 32 in. tv, two 12 in woofer car speakers and two red stools.
AJ's Car wash Burglarized
According to Chief Frost, on 6-13-09, the owner of AJ's car wash reported that the service room at the car wash had been burglarized.
Burglary at Waynesboro Middle School
According to Chief Frost, on 6-3-09, Dejuan Walley , principal of Waynesboro Middle School states that someone burglarized several rooms at the school. A television, computer, Monitor and VCR was taken, keyboard, RCA television and a DVD player were taken.
Manager at Bumper's Drive-Inn reports Stolen Money
According to Chief Frost, on 5-28-09, Sgt. Chris Harris took a report from Richard Watts, the manager at Bumper's. Watts stated that he suspected that a employee was stealing money from the business.

Four wheeler Recovered after ATV Clinic Burglary
According to Chief Frost, on 5-27-09 the owner of the ATV Clinic, Pam Singleton states that during the night someone cut the chain link fence f the business on the south side of the lot next to the old Stokley's 66 station.
